JOHN FABRO

Student: Bachelor of Social Work

I think some major experiences in my

life contributed to why I chose to study

social work. Nothing else appealed to me

as much during my high school years and

I believe the skills and knowledge I have

gained from my particular experiences will

be invaluable to the field.

I chose to study at the University of

Auckland because it’s close to home,

it’s closest to where all my friends are,

it’s a highly ranked university and I think

Auckland has a good vibe. I have definitely

enjoyed meeting new people throughout

the programme and learning what the field

of social work is all about.

What I like most about the programme

is how diverse it is. So far I have studied

across a range of disciplines such as

psychology, sociology and law.

John Fabro is in his third year of study

towards a Bachelor of Social Work.
