Scholarships and awards

The University of Auckland has a wide range of scholarships and awards

available. There are also scholarships available only to Faculty of Education

and Social Work students, including the Start Smart Scholarships, the Sue

Caswell Scholarship and the William and Betty Bell Scholarship. For detailed

TeachNZ (Ministry of Education) scholarships are generally targeted at

Guaranteed accommodation

The University of Auckland guarantees accommodation in a Hall of

Residence for anyone enrolled in their frst year of a bachelors degree at

Epsom Campus as long as you apply by the closing date. This means you

will have the experience of connecting with other students in a fun and

supportive environment and can plan your move to Auckland knowing you

have secured a bed to sleep in. Most of our accommodation is a short bus

ride to and from Epsom Campus. Make sure you check the application

Which campus is right for you?

Epsom Campus:

74 Epsom Avenue, Epsom, Auckland

Nestled amongst leafy pohutukawa trees, the Epsom Campus is just

a 10-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is the main

campus of the Faculty of Education and Social Work. The campus offers

a community-minded, supportive, multicultural environment where

everyone has the opportunity to build strong bonds with their lecturers

and peers.

The campus is also only a few minutes’ walk from the cafés and shops of

Mt Eden Village – the perfect spot for coffee and study dates with new

friends. The campus has a full range of facilities, including a swimming

pool, tennis courts and Te Aka Matua o te Pou Hawaiki Marae.

Tai Tokerau Campus:

13 Alexander Street, Whangarei

Located in the heart of Whangarei, the Tai Tokerau Campus offers

world-ranked programmes within a close-knit community. The campus

offers selected programmes in teaching, foundation programmes and

postgraduate support for Northland students. A small campus of around

180 students offers a friendly and supportive learning environment.

There are dedicated support services and a branch of the University’s

Sylvia Ashton-Warner Library on campus.

The University of Auckland New Start preparation programme is also

offered at this campus.

City Campus:

22 Princes Street, Auckland City

The City Campus is located in the heart of Auckland City and is the main

campus of the University. Education courses within the Bachelor of Arts

and most General Education options are taught at this campus. Students

studying at other campuses also have access to the wide range of

facilities and services located at City Campus.

Manukau Campus:

Otara Road, Otara, Manukau, South

Auckland

Study what you love, alongside the community you love, in South

Auckland. The Faculty of Education and Social Work offers selected

teaching and preparation programmes at the Otara Campus of the

Manukau Institute of Technology through the University of Auckland

at Manukau programme. You will be taught by University of Auckland

lecturers and staff, and have access to all Manukau Institute of

Technology amenities. After these programmes, many students go on

to teach in schools in the local community, as well as further afeld. This

campus is also popular with students travelling from the Waikato area.

Interested in further study?

After completing your undergraduate study, you can continue on to

study at postgraduate level either full-time or part-time while working.

The Faculty of Education and Social Work offers a comprehensive

range of postgraduate programmes ranging from honours degrees and

postgraduate diplomas through to masters and doctoral programmes.
