Primary Teaching

Primary teachers have a major influence on the learning and development of children. They teach a wide

range of subject areas and also get to share their passion for special subjects, sport and cultural interests.

Primary teachers are involved in the education of children from Year 1 to Year 8 (typically aged 5 to 13

years old). If you are proficient in te reo Māori you could also specialise in teaching in bilingual or Māori

medium school settings.
